Talking about international pirate day.
————————————————————–
First, International Talking Pirate Day or International Talking Pirate Day) is a parody holiday coined in 1995 by Americans John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap’n Slappy). They decided that September 19 every year would be a day when everyone in the world should speak like a pirate.
For example, on this day we will greet our friends not with “Hello! », but with « Ohé, sailor! »
Initially a joke between the two friends, this “invented holiday” became public knowledge when Baur and Summers sent a letter about it to Dave Barry, an American print media humorist, in 2002. Barry loved the idea, and made it known. The media coverage provided by Dave Barry then gave the event international visibility.
