Happy Halloween by Leen Margot.
First, Halloween or Halloween (Canadian usage) is a holiday that originated in Celtic countries. The latter is celebrated on the evening of October 31, the eve of All Saints’ Day. Its name is a Scottish contraction of Allhallow-even which means the eve of All Saints’ Day and can be translated as “the eve of All Saints”.
Moreover, despite its name of Christian and English origin, the vast majority of sources present Halloween as a legacy of the pagan festival of Samhain since it was celebrated in early autumn by the Celts. Halloween is thus known to this day as Oíche Shamhna in Gaelic.
Moreover, it is a very popular festival in Ireland, Scotland and Wales where there are many historical testimonies of its existence. Jack-o’-lantern, the iconic Halloween lantern, itself comes from an Irish legend.
