Halloween is a holiday originating in Celtic countries. And it is celebrated on the evening of October 31, the eve of All Saints’ Day. Its name is a Scottish contraction of Allhallow-even and means “the eve of All Saints”.

Despite its name of Christian and English origin, the vast majority of sources present Halloween as a legacy of the pagan festival of Samhain. The emblem of the Halloween party “Jack-o’-lantern”, comes from an Irish legend.
