Despite being famous thanks to the tale of Cinderella, the pumpkin is above all an edible fruit. In the version of the tale taken up by Disney, Cinderella’s fairy godmother transforms a pumpkin into a magnificent carriage with her wand. In Perrault’s original tale the pumpkin is not precisely described, the author writes that it is the most beautiful in the garden.
It’s funny to know that the pumpkin is used in several contests, one presenting the biggest one and a second of throwing with the catapult.
