First, a sketch is an English word that means sketch. A sketch is the first draft of a drawn work, prior to subsequent work, painted for example. The sketch is part of the preparatory research phase for a work to be painted. It is often located after the sketch taken from life and may precede a more finished or definitive type drawing which will serve as a working basis for the painter.
