Printable pin-up coloring page to draw for adults.
First, a pin-up is a representation of a woman, drawn or photographed, in an attractive or “sexy” pose. The Anglo-Saxon expression of “pin-up girl” which could be translated into French as “young woman pinned to the wall” is often used. The word was first used in 1941. Since their appearance, pin-ups have remained a symbol of charm and eroticism regularly brought up to date.
In the 1930s, pin-ups were increasingly represented and were very regularly used in pulp books and comics (Dirty comics). Many variants then appeared, notably the “Vargas Girl” painted with airbrush by Alberto Vargas for Esquire magazine, as well as the first “pin-up boys” created by designers Joyce Ballantyne, Pearl Frush and Zoë Mozert.
On the other hand, it is only at the beginning of the 1940s that the word pin-up is used to describe these representations hung on the walls.
In addition, for some time there has been a resurgence of interest in these muses of the 1950s with the arrival of models celebrating this era. Fashion, magazines and artists are bringing the pin-up style up to date. Some models like Dita von Teese make this trend their trademark.
