————————————————————–

In some Amerindian cultures, a dream catcher or dreamcatcher (in English: dreamcatcher) is a handcrafted object of Ojibwe origin (called asubakatchin or bawajige nagwaagan in this language) consisting of a hoop, usually made of willow, and a network of wires in the form of a net. The decorations that compose it are different for each dreamcatcher. According to popular belief, the dreamcatcher prevents bad dreams from invading the sleep of its holder. Acting as a filter, it captures the dreams sent by the spirits, preserves the beautiful images of the night and burns away the bad visions at the first light of day.
